"Dig With It"... the title comes from one of my favorite poems, the last three words of Seamus Heaney's "Digging". The poet remembers his father digging in the earth with a spade and says that in his own hand he holds a pen... so he'll "dig with it". My own father was a hard working man and this album of fiddle music is dedicated to him.

I was lucky to get the excellent Dave Marshall to play accompaniment on guitar and bouzouki. His straightforward and understated playing was a perfect complement to these tunes. And my son Willie Bays played guitar on one track... he was just 8 years old at the time. He composed the slide "The Blue Whale" in track 12.
